Write Journal RAM Data to Flash
Writes the journal data in RAM to Flash and marks it as a complete journal entry with two print
commands: 0x0A 0x0A. Printer goes busy at the communication interface while the flash is being
written. Application should not send any further data or commands until printer goes not busy at the
communication interface.

Enable Direct Journal Mode
All commands and data are saved in the journal RAM buffer for subsequent write to flash. None of the
data is printed on the receipt while the printer is in Direct Journal Mode.
Points to note when using Direct Journal Mode:
Commands are not executed until the journal is printed.
Batch mode status commands in the journal flash buffer will not generate status until the
journal is printed.
Don’t send commands that read, write, or erase flash.
Don’t send commands intended for diagnostics or printer configuration.
If saving Page Mode data, exit Page Mode before exiting Direct Journal Mode. Otherwise
results are unpredictable.
If saving graphics data, results could be unpredictable. For example, if the data bytes 0x1F
0x0A 0xC9 are part of the graphics, the printer will exit Direct Journal Mode and process the
remainder of the graphics as normal print data.
Send the Write Journal RAM Data to Flash command after the Disable Direct Journal Mode
command.

Disable Direct Journal Mode
