Setting the Function Blocks
Use the FUNCTION rotary switch to select the function block for the respective safety application. Function blocks where inputs I1 - I4 are assigned
to a function group AB are designated single functions. Function blocks where inputs I1, I2 are assigned to function group A and inputs I3, I4 are
assigned to function group b are designated combination or dual functions. In the combination functions the function group B (grey background) is
hierarchically subordinate to function group A. In other words, if function group A is shut down, function group B will be shut down too (regardless of
the status of inputs I3, I4). Dual function 8 possesses two separate function groups A and B. Regardless of the selected function block, you can use
the DELAY rotary switch to set a release delay for outputs Q3 and Q4 (cf. Table 1). The start function of the function groups and the possibility of
retriggering the release delay are defined by the configuration of control inputs S1 - S3. When operating voltage is connected, the status of these
control inputs is read (cf. Tables 2 and 3).
