COMPONENT ACCESS

Removing the Tub Assembly

WARNING

Electrical Shock Hazard

Disconnect power before servicing.

Failure to do so can result in death or
electrical shock.

Replace all parts and panels before operating.

To Remove the Tub Assembly

Unplug washer or disconnect power.

Turn off water supply to washer.

Disconnect cold inlet water hose and remove the drain

hose from the standpipe or laundry tub.

Perform the procedures on page 4-7, “Removing the Toe

Panel” prior to performing the following steps.

Perform the procedures on page 4-8, “Removing the Top

Panel” prior to performing the following steps.

. Perform the procedures on page 4-12, “Removing the

Dispenser Housing” prior to performing the following

steps.

Perform the procedures on page 4-15, “Removing the

Console/User Interface” prior to performing the following

steps.

Perform the procedure on page 4-16, “Removing the Front

Panel Assembly” prior to performing the following steps.

. Perform the procedure on page 4-18, “Removing the

Direct Drive Assembly” prior to performing the following

steps.

Remove all connectors from the heater and temperature

thermistor (see Figure 1).

. Use a 7 mm hex head driver to remove the four (4) screws

securing the cross top bracket to the side panels. Remove

cross top bracket.

Use a Torx 15 driver to remove the two (2) screws

securing the front control bracket to the side panels.

Remove front control bracket.

Use a ratchet and a Torx 50 bit to remove the three (3)

screws securing the top counter weight to the top of the

tub assembly (see Figure 2). Remove counter weight and

set aside for reassembly.

Use a ratchet and a Torx 50 bit to remove the three (3)

screws securing the front counter weight to the front of

the tub assembly (see Figure 3). Remove counter weight

and set aside for reassembly.
