Unequal sharpened teeth
▪
The depth gauge setting in respect
to the top plate is approx
. .025“
= 0.64 mm. Make sure that all depth
gauges have the same height.
▪
The filing angle must be equal for all
cutters. The angle has to be approx. 25°, 30° or 35° according to the
used saw chain type. The saw chain consists of right and left cutters.
▪
Sharpening teeth to unequal blade lengths can cause a side drift when
sawing; resulting in unwanted inclined saw-cuts.
▪
Before you sharpen the chainsaw chain check it for damages, such as:
- bent or abraded drive links
- broken cutter teeth
- loose rivets or broken rivet heads
▪
If any damage is observed, replace the whole saw chain or have the
damaged chain repaired by an authorized service centre.
▪
Please note that a badly sharpened saw chain increases the risk of
kickback.
▪
When the cutter teeth are reduced for more than 4 mm, the saw chain
should not be used further more and should be disposed off.
