6. Screw the collection cap (11) with the lock nut on the thread of the frame cap.
Turn the lock nut in clockwise direction to tighten the cap. Make sure the slot in
the collecting cap is facing upwards.
7. Insert the nosepiece (12 – 15) into the nosepiece frame head (1).
8. Switch on the compressor.
9. Insert the blind rivet into the nosepiece. Hold the air hydraulic riveter at right
angles to the workpiece. Please note that the diameter of the hole has to be
0.1 mm larger than the mandrel of the blind rivet.
10. Hold the air hydraulic riveter firmly by the handle (5) and press the trigger (6).
By doing this, the blind rivet will be fixed into the workpiece.
11. Release the trigger and the broken mandrel will be automatically removed.
Now the next rivet can be placed into the nosepiece.
12. When the collecting cap is full, empty it immediately.
13. First disconnect the air hydraulic riveter from the air supply when exchanging
the nosepiece, when not using the unit, after finished working and when
applying maintenance work. Press the trigger in order to remove any remain-
ing air from the riveter.
Changing the Nosepiece
1. To replace the nosepiece, first disconnect the
unit from air supply. Press the trigger several
times to release remaining air.
2. Screw the new nosepiece into the nosepiece
frame head. Make sure the nosepiece cannot
be ejected by the spring load.
Especially when screwing long nosepieces on
the unit in order to drive in blind rivets with
thicker mandrel diameter, it might be difficult
to screw the nosepiece on the frame head.
This is due to the long structural shape of the
nosepieces. Such nosepieces must press the
jaws as far as possible backwards in order to
enable the mandrel of the blind rivets to fit
between the jaws.
Hint: To make it easer to insert the nosepiece into the frame head, first
remove the nosepiece frame head from the riveter. Then screw the nosepiece
on the frame head and retighten the frame head on the riveter.
