Usage
Pickling
Equip the multipurpose pot with a pickling thermometer and the wire grating,
which can be ordered form Westfalia under the article number 26 09 84. The
multipurpose pot can be equipped with most common pickling thermometers.
1. Place the wire grating in the multipur-
pose pot and stack the preserving jars
on the grating.
2. Fill the Multipurpose pot with cold water
until the top row of jars is covered with

3. Insert the pickling thermometer into the
hole in the lid.
4. Put the lid with the seal on the pot. Insert
the thermometer between the jars.
5. Secure the lid with the clasps.
6. Now apply heat, for duration and
temperature please refer to the pickling
recipe you are using.
7. Before removing the jars from the pot
please wait until it has cooled down to
room temperature or cover the jars with
a towel to allow them to cool down
slowly.
Steaming
Steaming is a gentle way of preparation for vegetable and potatoes. This way
vitamins and trace elements are preserved much better than with conventional
boiling.
The steam displaces the oxygen which breaks down valuable vitamins during
boiling.
1. Put approximately one litre of water into the multipurpose pot and insert
the fruit container with the food to be steamed into the pot.
