7.4 Trouble shooting
If ongoing operation is stopped due to a fault, the on / off button flashes. Remove the front panel (cover and front
panel for IC135 models) in order to read the error message in the display of the control element.
When the cause of the fault has been eliminated, the fault message in the display can be closed by pressing the on
/ off button once. If the error message occurs again immediately after it has been closed, contact your specialist
dealer or WESSAMAT service.
Error codes are only displayed with the IC250 ice maker variant!
Malfunction Cause Measures for troubleshooting
Display:
Error code 7
Fault high pressure switch
trips Ambient temperature too high. Lower the ambient temperature or
change location if necessary.
The condenser is dirty. Clean the condenser.
Display:
Error code 5
Fresh water supply fault
active for more than 2 minutes Fresh water not connected or the tap
not turned on. Connect fresh water or open the tap.
Clogged water inlet or filter. Clean the water inlet or filter.
Display:
Error code 1: Module Upper
tub upward
Error code 2: Module
downward, tub down
Error code 3: Module below,
tub up
Error code 4: Module below,
tub down
Fault tub does not reach the
upper or lower limit switch Ice blocks the mechanics.
Switch off the machine, remove the ice
by hand or, if necessary, wait until the
ice cubes have defrosted.
Clean the injection plate.
Reduce production time (see Chapter
6.2).
Defect in the mechanics. Contact specialist dealer or
WESSAMAT service.
Motor coupling no longer functional Replace the motor coupling, contact
your specialist dealer or WESSAMAT
service.
Display:
Error code 6:
Defrost fault active for more
than 15 minutes Ambient temperature too low. Increase the ambient temperature or
change location if necessary.
Ambient temperature too high. Lower the ambient temperature or
change location if necessary.
IC135 ECL, ECW only
Display:
Rocker malfunction Ice blocks the mechanics. Switch off the machine, remove the ice
by hand or, if necessary, wait until the
ice cubes have defrosted.
Clean the slide and rocker of the combi
module.
Defect in the mechanics. Contact specialist dealer or
WESSAMAT service.
Ice maker does not run even
though the power plug is
plugged in. Machine has no voltage from the
mains. Check socket.
In air-cooled machines, the air
circulation is insufficient Check the distances between the
machine and the side walls and to the
rear, ensure that the machine is
properly ventilated.
The condenser is dirty. Clean the condenser.
The water supply is interrupted in
water-cooled machines. Open the water inlet.
Ice maker does not run
although it is switched on. Storage tank is full (storage tank
thermostat has switched off). Ice maker will automatically resume ice
production when enough ice has been
removed from the storage bin.
Storage tank thermostat has switched
off although the storage tank is not filled
with ice. Check storage tank thermostat.
Ambient temperature too low. Increase the ambient temperature or
change location if necessary.
Ice maker does not produce
ice. The water level probe has a moisture
bridge. Dry the water level probe.
Production time is too long, injection Allow injection nozzles to thaw, reduce
