5. Installation and Electrical Connection
5.1 Installation
• Protect the product from contamination during installation.
• Observe all applicable electrical and mechanical regulations, standards, and safety rules.
• Protect the product against mechanical influences.
• Make sure that the sensor is mounted in a mechanically secure fashion.
• If the object has smooth surfaces, the angle between the axis of the sound waves and the surface of the
object
should be 90° ±3°. The angle can be considerably larger in the case of rough object surfaces.
• The sensor’s sensing face must remain unobstructed.
NOTE!
Observe the blind spot.
In the area between the sensor’s active surface and the beginning of its working range,
correct functioning of the sensor is not assured. No objects may be located in this area.
