If the operating system of the PC is WINDOWS 95, DCOM-95 must be installed
before the decoder software. With WINDOWS 98/ME/NT/2000/XP as operating
system, the installation of DCOM is not necessary, because DCOM is a part of
the operating system.
Clicking on " Next " continues the installation. The W40PC default software directory is
"\Program Files\WAVECOM\W40PC", but if required the directory may be changed.
After a new click on " Next " the dialog box asks for a folder name for the start menu. The de-
fault is called "WAVECOM\W40PC".
A click on the "
Next
" button shows a status of all the given inputs. The next action will start
the copying of the files.
When the installation is completed, the W40PC program may be started even without the
hardware being installed. Click on "
W40PC " to make a test start. A start of a transmission
mode is not possible without W40PC hardware, however.
