Understanding the Shuttle Valve Operation

The shuttle valve engages as the air pressure in the
system rises. It prevents air from escaping during
CAFS operation. When the system shuts down and
the air pressure leaves the valve, the shuttle returns
to its resting position and bleeds off any remaining
air in the system to atmosphere.
Note: The white dots illustrate the main air pressure
route described in the instructions.
1 The rising pressure in the system moves the
shuttle into the operating position.
2 When the compressor shuts down, the lack of
air pressure moves the shuttle into the resting
position.
3 Air in the lines migrates to atmosphere through
the red tubing.
4 Air in the compressor migrates to atmosphere
through the green tubing.
