Subject to error and alteration

The device takes the IP address of the first network packet sent
to it as its own and saves it in non-volatile memory. The ping
requests of the PC are then replied.

It is not possible to configure the subnet mask and gateway
address using a static ARP entry. These must then be confi-
gured via the web interface of the device.
