6. Automatic switching
The LDS/ST device checks whether there
is an object at the set distance from the
sensor and switches the luminaire auto-
matically.
The device has set a follow-up time. The
connected luminaire remains switched
on for 10 seconds after the sensor has
detected that the luminaire must be
switched off. In case of a switch cabinet, for
example, this prevents the luminaire from
going out immediately despite an open door
as soon as a person stands in the detection
range of the sensor.
The device can be configured individually.

The settings menu contains several settings
levels, see Tab. 7.
NOTE: Only one settings level can be con-
figured at a time.
X Place your hand directly on the sensor B
and restart the device via the supply
voltage, see Fig. 1.
The settings menu is started.
As long as the sensor is covered, the
device automatically switches from one
settings level to the other every two
seconds. After the last level, it switches
back to the first level.
After each switching, the connected
luminaire indicates the settings level
you are in by means of the correspond-
ing number of flashes.
X If you have reached the desired settings
level: Take your hand off the sensor.
The settings level is active.

Within 10 seconds, make the setting
as described in the following sections:
- Level 1, see section “Setting the
distance”, page 30
- Level 2, see section “Setting the
switching logic”, page 30
- Level 3, see section “Setting the
luminaire model”, page 31
- Level 4, see section “Setting the
dimming level/colour”, page 31
- Level 5, see section “Resetting to
the factory setting”, page 31
If you do not make any changes within
10 seconds, the set value is applied.
The connected luminaire flashes six
times.
The settings menu is exited.
