4. Open the drain valve and drain the used engine oil into an appropriate
container. Dispose of used oil in accordance with local environmental protection
laws.
5. Close the drain valve and reinsert the plug.
6. Unscrew the oil filters (b) and remove them. Dispose of used filters in
accordance with local environmental protection laws.
7. Clean the oil filter mounting surface.
Filling 1. Apply a thin coat of clean oil to the gasket of the new oil filters.
2. Thread the oil filters onto the block until the gasket touches the block. Then, turn
the oil filter an additional 180°–270°.
3. Refill the reservoir with 20 gallons (76 liters) of oil.
4. Start the genset engine and allow it to run for a 1–3 minutes.
5. Stop the genset engine.
6. Check the oil level. Add oil as needed.
Result The engine oil and oil filter have now been changed.
