6.8 Checking and Adjusting the Electrode Position
Requirements
„
Machine shut down and cooled.
„
Combustion head assembly removed. See section Removing and Installing the
Combustion Head Assembly .
When to
adjust
„
Once per year, if necessary.
„
When the burner is not firing properly.
Checking To check the electrode position, measure the following distances:
„
between tips (a)
„
electrode to nozzle (b)
„
electrode tip to nozzle center line (c)
Refer to the table below for the correct dimensions.
Adjusting To adjust the electrodes, loosen the screw (d) , move to the correct position, and
tighten the screw.
Dimensions Refer to the table below for the correct dimensions:

a 3.18 mm (0.125 in)
b 6.35–7.94 mm
