California Energy Commission battery charging
testing instructions

This telephone is set up to comply with the energy-conserving standards right out of the box. These
instructions are intended for California Energy Commission (CEC) compliance testing only. When the
CEC battery charging testing mode is activated, all telephone functions, except battery charging, will

be disabled.

To activate the CEC battery charging testing mode:

Place the two wireless mics (with batteries inserted) into the base unit to make sure they can work

normally with the base unit.
Unplug the power cable from the power outlet.

While you press and hold

on the base unit, plug the power cable back to the power outlet.

After about 20 seconds, when the base unit

status indicators start flashing, release

and

then press it again within 1 second. After one minute, the base unit will enter the CEC battery
charging testing mode.

After about one minute, the base unit will enter the CEC battery charging testing mode. The base

indicators turn off and both wireless mics will be deregistered. All telephone functions, except battery

charging will be disabled.
If the base unit has failed to enter this mode, repeat Step 1 through Step 4 above.

The base unit will be powered up as normal if you fail to press

within 1 second in Step 4.

To deactivate the CEC battery charging testing mode:

Unplug the power cable from the power outlet, and then plug it back in. The base unit is powered up as
normal. See page 28 for wireless mic registration instructions.
