4.4 temporary ringer Silencing
When the telephone is ringing, you can choose to ignore the call and temporarily
silence the ringer of the handset without disconnecting the call. The next call rings
normally at the preset volume.
4.4.1 to Silence the Handset or Headset ringer
Press
or
MUte
on the handset. If you then want to accept the call, you can do so
from the silenced handset or any other registered handset by pressing .

Press
VoLUMe -
on the headset to decrease the ringer volume. Press
VoLUMe-
repeatedly to silence it.
NOTE
Each handset will ring when there is an incoming call unless the ringer volume is
turned off. Pressing
or
MUte
on the handset will only silence the ringer of that
particular handset. This only works when the handset(s) is/are not on the base /
charging cradle.
4.5 Mute a call
You can mute the microphone so that you can talk to someone else in the room without
your caller hearing you.
During a call:
Press
MUte
to turn the microphone off.
Press
MUte
again to cancel the mute function and turn on the microphone.
4.6 end a call
During a call connection, press
on the handset to end the call: or place the handset
on the base or charger to end the call.
or
Press the
tALK off
button on the headset; or place the headset on the base.
4.7 call timer
Your handset automatically times the duration of each call. The call timer will display
for a few seconds after the call has been ended. It is shown in hours, minutes and
seconds format (HH-MM-SS).
4.8 call Waiting
If you subscribe to call waiting service from your telephone service provider, you hear
two beeps if someone calls while you are already on a call.
Press
on the handset or press and hold
fLASH
on the headset to put your current
call on hold and take the new call.
Press
on the handset again or press and hold
fLASH
on the headset at any time to
switch back and forth between calls.
