Deregister handsets
If you want to replace a handset, or reassign the designated handset number of
a registered handset, you must deregister all handsets that are registered to the
telephone base. Then register each handset individually.
To make deregistration easier, read all of the instructions on this page before you
begin.
To deregister all handsets:
Press and hold
FIND HANDSET
on the telephone base for about 10
seconds until the base screen shows

followed
by

, then release the
FIND HANDSET
button.
The base screen shows the deregistration screen.
Immediately press
MENU
/SELECT
.
The deregistration process takes about 60 seconds to complete. All handsets
alternately show
1.Press FIND HS on base 4sec
and
2.Then press # on handset
.
To register the handset(s) to the telephone base again, follow the registration
instructions on the previous page.
After you deregister the handset(s), the telephone base is in idle mode but the
system date and time information needs to be reset. For instructions, see
Set
date/time
on page 27.
You cannot deregister all handsets if any other system handset is in use.
If the deregistration process is not successful, you might need to reset the system
and try again. To reset, unplug the power from the telephone base and plug it
back in.
Even if the battery is depleted, you can still deregister the handset by following
the steps above. After the handset is charged for at least 10 minutes, the
screen shows
1.Press HS LOC on base 4sec
and
2.Then press # on
handset

Move the cordless handset closer to the telephone base. You might have moved out of

If the previous suggestions do not work, disconnect the telephone base from the
telephone jack and connect to a different phone. If there is no dial tone on that phone
either, the problem is in your wiring or telephone service. Contact your telephone
service provider.
Your line cord might be malfunctioning. Try installing a new line cord.
