Entering a PIN code
Your SIM card may be protected by a PIN (Personal
Identification Number), if so you will be prompted to enter
it when you first switch on. The documentation from your
service provider should indicate the current PIN code.
To enter your PIN:
1 Enter the PIN code using the numeric keys – the
display will show ‘#’ symbols instead of the numbers
to avoid your code being seen by onlookers,

delay, your phone will join the network.
If you enter the wrong PIN code:

to clear any error. If you enter the wrong code
three times in succession, your SIM card becomes
disabled. Contact your service provider to obtain a
PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) which is a separate,
longer code - refer to the
Phone security features
section.
Setting the time and date
If your phone has not previously been switched on (or
has been unused for a long period), you will need to set
the time and date.
To set the time and date:

• The current setting is displayed - to alter the
settings within each option:
• type the numbers using the keypad, or

to accept the value and move to the next
setting,

to move back to the previous setting.
5 When you have completed the
Time
option, access
Date
to set that in the same manner.
