OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
INTENDED USE
The charger is solely designed for private use in the model construction area, for charging/
discharging rechargeable NiMH or NiCd batteries rechargeable batteries with 4-8 cells and the
operating times associated with them.
The safety information must be observed at all times!
Any use other than that described above can damage the product and may involve additional
risks such as short circuit, fire, electric shock, etc. No part of this product must be modified or
converted!
This product complies with the statutory national and European requirements. All company
names and product names are trademarks of their respective owners. All rights reserved.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND CONTROL ELEMENTS
The charger may be operated with a stabilised direct voltage (12 - 24 V/DC) as well as via the
integrated mains adapter (100 - 240 V/AC, 50/60 Hz).
Depending on operating voltage/connection, the following cell numbers are possible for
charging NiMH-/NiCd batteries:
Connection to 12 - 13.8 V/DC (e.g. car battery):
4-6 cells
Connection to 13.8 - 24 V/DC (e.g. mains unit):
4-8 cells
Connection to mains voltage:
4-8 cells
Recognition of the cell number connected in the rechargeable battery is automatically
performed. The charging current can be switched between 1 A, 2 A and 3 A. Charging is
interrupted automatically with a delta peak deactivation. Additionally, a safety timer is integrated,
e.g. to switch off charging after a specific time for bad batteries. The display shows battery
voltage, charging current, charged energy, charging time and end of charging process.
Additionally, a discharge function is present, as well as a USB output to connect the
corresponding consumers.

SAFETY INFORMATION
The guarantee/warranty will expire if damage is incurred resulting from non-
compliance with the operating instructions! We do not assume any liability for
consequential damage!
We do not assume any liability for damage to property or personal injury
caused by improper use or the failure to observe the safety instructions! In
such cases the warranty/guarantee will expire.
• For safety and licensing reasons (CE), unauthorised conversion and/or
modification of the device is not permitted.
• The battery must be removed from the model for charging and cooled off to room
temperature before charging starts.
• Place the charger and battery on a non-flammable, heat-resistant surface (e.g.
stone tiles). Maintain enough distance from flammable objects. Leave enough
distance between the charger and the rechargeable battery - never place the
rechargeable battery on the charger.
• As both the charger and the battery heat up during the charge/discharge
procedure, it is necessary to ensure sufficient ventilation. Never cover the charger
or the battery!
• Do not operate the product unattended. Despite a considerable number of
protective circuits, it is impossible to exclude the possibility of malfunctions or
problems during the charging process.
• Rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, taken apart or thrown into fire.
There is a risk of fire and explosion!
• Leaking or damaged rechargeable batteries may cause caustic burns if they come
into contact with skin. Therefore you should use suitable protective gloves for this.
• Always observe correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when connecting the
rechargeable battery to your model or charger. Connecting the battery incorrectly
will not only damage the model but also the rechargeable battery. There is a risk of
fire and explosion!
• Also observe the safety information of the rechargeable battery manufacturer.
• Chargers and batteries are no toys and do not belong in the hands of children! The
product must only be set up, used or stored in places that are not accessible to
children.
• Children could change the settings or short-circuit the rechargeable battery/battery
pack, which can lead to an explosion. Danger to life!
• The product is intended for use in a dry environment only. It must not become
damp or wet. There is danger to life from electric shock!
• Avoid direct sun irradiation, strong heat or cold. Keep the charger away from dust
and dirt.
• Do not use the battery charger inside a vehicle.
• Do not place any containers filled with liquid, vases or plants, on or next to the
charger. If they call over, this may destroy the charger and there is a high risk of
fire.
• Only operate the product in moderate climate, never in tropical climate. For more
information on acceptable environmental conditions, see the chapter „Technical
Data“.
• Never operate the device immediately after it was taken from a cold room to a
warm room. The resulting condensation may lead to malfunctions or damage!
Allow the charger (and the rechargeable battery/batteries) to reach room
temperature before connecting the charger to the power supply and using it. This
may take several hours!
• When connecting the charger to a direct voltage source, always ensure correct
polarity. The small front contact of the cigarette lighter plug is the plus pole („+“),
the lateral contacts are the minus pole.
• Avoid operation in direct proximity of strong magnetic or electromagnetic fields,
transmitter aerials or HF generators. This can affect the control electronics.
• If you have reason to believe that the device can no longer be operated safely,
disconnect it immediately and make sure it is not unintentionally operated.
It can be assumed that operation without danger is no longer possible if the device
has any visible damage, the device no longer works, after extended storage under
unsuitable conditions or after difficult transport conditions.
• Handle the product with care - impact, blows or falls from even a low height may
damage the product.
• Servicing, adjustments and repairs must only be carried out by a specialist/
specialist workshop. The device contains no parts that require servicing or
adjusting by you.
• At industrial sites, the accident prevention regulations of the association of the
industrial workers’ societies for electrical equipment and utilities must be followed.
• In schools, training centres, hobby and self-help workshops, the handling of
chargers and batteries must be supervised by responsible trained personnel.
• Do not leave the packaging material lying around carelessly since such materials
can become dangerous toys in the hands of children.
