f) Inductance measuring
Make sure that all the circuit parts, switches and components and other objects of measurement
are disconnected from the voltage and discharged.
- Switch the DMM on and select the corresponding measuring range for your com-
ponent (“mH” or “H”).
- Plug the red measuring lead into the mH/H measuring socket “+” (6) and the black
measuring lead into the mH/H measuring socket.“-” (7).
- Now connect the two measuring prods with the object to be measured (spool).
After a short while the display shows the inductance. Wait until the display has
stabilised. This may take some seconds.
- As soon as “OL“ (overload) appears on the display, you have exceeded the meas-
uring range. Select the next higher measuring range.
- After measuring, remove the measuring leads from the measuring object and turn
the DMM off.
g) RANGE function
The RANGE button (2) allows you to manually switch the measuring ranges in the resistance and capacity measuring
range. Each press switches one measuring range forward.
To return to automatic range selection, keep the button “RANGE” depressed for approx. 2 seconds.
h) HOLD function
The HOLD function freezes the currently indicated measuring value to allow you to read it or to take the record without rush.
Prior to measuring, make sure that this function is deactivated at the start of the test. Otherwise, a
false measuring result is simulated!
To switch on the HOLD function press the “HOLD” button (3); an acoustic signal confirms this action and “HOLD”
appears on the display.
To turn the HOLD function off, press the button “HOLD” again or change the measuring function.
i) MAX/MIN function
This function keeps the maximum and minimum values on the display. The automatic range selection is deactivated.
- Press the button “MAX/MIN” (11) once in measuring mode. The display shows “MAX” and indicates the highest
value.
- If you press the button “MAX/MIN” again, you switch to “MIN”. The lowest value is saved.
- With each further press of the button “MAX/MIN”, the display “MAX MIN” blinks and the current measuring value is
displayed. However, the MIN/MAX memory continues to run in the background.
- Each brief press switches the display.
- To quit the function, keep the button “MAX/MIN” depressed for approx. 1 second until the displays “MAX”, “MIN” or
“MAX MIN” disappear with a beep.
