Adapting fuel gauge

Special tools, testers, measuring units and auxiliary items required

Fuel extraction unit VAG 1433 A

- Switch off ignition.

- Drain fuel tank completely (VAG 1433A), then fill with fuel as per following:

Vehicles with 2 wheel drive: 7 liters

Vehicles with 4 wheel drive: 8 liters

- Connect scan tool VAG 1551, select operating mode 1 "Rapid data transfer", switch

on ignition and enter address word 17 "Instrument panel".

Indicated on display:

- Confirm entry with Q key.
