Instrument panel, On Board Diagnostic (OBD) (through MY 1999) (Page 01-50)

Indicated on new instrument panel display after entering channel number 10:

The selected channel and actual counter reading for the next service are displayed in the top line. 

Notes:

Entering the relevant specifications is only possible in steps of 1000 km, therefore 
this is shown on display in 1000 km. 

The adjustment figure entered must contain 5 figures (e.g. 00009 for adjustment 
figure 9 this equates to a distance of 9000 km to next service). 

The service type specification establishes the value from which the distance 
recorder and the time counter count back for service interval display. Specifications:

 

Repair Manual, Maintenance

The adaptation sequence must also be carried out using kilometers for instrument 
panel with odometer calibrated in miles display. The mileage values must be 
converted to kilometer values (1 mile equates to approx. 1.609 kilometers).

Example:

From the defective instrument panel (or the servicing schedule) it has been determined that the 
vehicle has driven a total distance of 6000 km. The customer has driven this distance in 170 
days.
