4.
Select the function required on the Data Link.
a)
When first powered up, both the "
DOWNLOAD PROGRAM
" and
"
DOWNLOAD FACTORY SETTINGS
" LED’s will be lit, indicating that
both these functions will be active.
b)
For downloading the program, without changing the software settings,
press the "
DOWNLOAD FACTORY SETTINGS
" button to switch off it's
LED, disabling this function. At this point, only the power LED and the
"
DOWNLOAD PROGRAM
" LED should be lit on the Data Link. Once
activated, the Data Link will only update the software, leaving the
product settings, water settings, pricing, etc., unchanged from what was
previously programmed.
c)
To download the software update, and change all the values to factory
settings, both the "
DOWNLOAD PROGRAM
" and "
DOWNLOAD FACTORY
SETTINGS
" LED’s should be lit, indicating that both of these functions
are active.
5.
Press the “
START
” button on the Data Link to activate the downloading
procedure.
6.
The program will now download automatically. The downloading
procedure will take approximately three minutes.
WARNING:
Do not interrupt this procedure once it is in progress as data being transferred
may become corrupted, creating problems with the operation of the coffee
machine.
7.
Remove the DB9 cable and Data Link phone jack harness.
8.
Reconnect the coin changer phone jack harness to the front board and
close the inner and outer doors.

Note:
If the “
INCORRECT
EPROM
” LED is lit
on the Data Link, it
is an indication
that the software
being downloaded
is not compatible
with the rear
board in the
equipment. Check
the software level
printed on the
eprom decal.
Also note that if
the eprom is not
inserted properly
into the Data Link
socket, all the
LED’s on the Data
Link will
illuminate.
