Air filters should be replaced promptly. Dirt and dust particles, that
penetrate through the air filter, contribute to the premature wear and failure of
the piston engine.
Flushing and replacing the air filter
1. Unscrew the nut and remove the air filter cover.
2. Remove the filter element and clean it or replace it.
3. Clean the air filter housing from dust and dirt.
4. Assemble the air filter, tighten the nut.
FUEL FILTER
Fuel filters are for cleaning the fuel, thereby increasing the life of the fuel
system and fuel pump. Its replacing is strictly regulated over the time as visible
contamination. The filter is in a transparent flask, which makes it easy to
determine the extent of contamination. If the filter is very dirty, it will be better to
wash the fuel tank and fuel system.
FUEL PUMPS, NOZZLES AND VALVES
Cleaning and inspection of the fuel pump and injectors, all as checking the
valve clearance should be done by a qualified technician. Contact the service
center.
COOLING SYSTEM
Both generators' models are equipped with forced air cooling system.
Check the integrity of the impeller engine cooling fan regularly (which is
behind the manual starter in the ERS 4.6d model, and which is on the place of
the manual starter in the ERS 4.6dt model). The damaging of even one blade
of the fan's propeller can lead to overheating of the engine. Replace the
damaged fan's propeller immediately.
WARNING
!
Do not wash the air filter element by solvents or detergents.
Use only soapy water and a soft brush.
FUEL TANK
It is recommended to clean the fuel tank and fuel filter every 100 hours of
operation or every 6 months. If it is necessary, follow this procedure more
frequently. These measures will increase the life terms of the engine fuel
system.
Clean the fuel tank and fuel filter by the fuel.
FUEL PIPE
Fuel is made from the rubber products which are exposed to
environmental and mechanical impacts. This does not mean that the fuel is
made from a material of poor quality. Each material has its own life and it has
its own aging properties. Fuel pipe is an important element of the engine, it
should be emphasized. In order to prevent the possible leakage of fuel, the
inspection of the fuel should be carried out timely and, if it is necessary, there
must be done its timely replacement.
MUFFLER
Before each use, inspect the muffler state and reliability of fastening:
There shouldn't be a trace of soot at the junction of the muffler with an
exhaust manifold of the engine, which indicates a pass of the engine's exhaust
gases;
There should not be the burnouts on the walls of the muffler housing;
Exhaust pipe must not be blocked by obstacles that prevent the exit of
exhaust gases.
If you find any faults in the muffler, contact the service center.
WARNING
!
It is forbidden to operate the engine with a broken propeller
of the fan of air cooling. A broken propeller can lead to
overheating of the engine and its premature failure.
