Coaxial Video Cable
1. Attach the male BNC connector on the video cable to the mating BNC connector on the PC board.
2. Push excess coaxial cable back through the grommet and arrange the coaxial cable as desired in the
housing. Secure it with the adhesive coaxial cable clamp provided.
Camera Power Connections
Vicon systems and components, like most electronic equipment, require a clean, stable power source. Voltage
irregularities such as surges, drops, and interruptions can affect the operation of your equipment and, in
severe cases, damage certain components. Vicon strongly recommends the use of line conditioners, voltage
regulators, and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems. A UL listed Class 2 direct plug-in transformer with
12 VDC 300 mA output is required for powering the V894CSH and V894WSH cameras. Refer to Table 3 for
proper voltages.
Caution: The cameras installed in the V894CSH/WSH series are nonisolated cameras. To prevent “ground
looping” on the video in systems with more than one camera per power supply, it is necessary to
use a video isolator. Otherwise, a single power supply must be used for each unit.
Power is connected through a three-position detachable screw terminal connector on the PC board. Pin 1 of
the connector is identified by a “1” silkscreened on the PC board. Refer to Table 3 for the input power
connections.
1. Find the detachable power cable connector supplied in the accessory pack.
2. Attach the camera power cables to the connector according to Table 3.
Caution: Be sure to make pin connections correctly. Wrong pin connections will cause damage to the unit.
3. Press the cable connector onto the board connector, taking care to orient the connector properly to the
keying slots.
4. Cable ties and cable tie bases are provided in the accessory pack. These may be used, if desired, to
secure the power cable to the inside of the housing.
