13 Copper Testing

NOTE:
In order to convert capacitance (Opens), resistance, and TDR

results to the correct length for your country, make sure your

country and type of cable are selected in the

System Settings / International menu. See Configuring

International Settings on page xx.

Running a OneCheck copper test

The OneCheck Copper test is a Viavi out-of-service pair quality test. It automatically performs

a series of enabled tests including: DVOM (AC/DC volts, resistance), Opens/Capacitance,

Balance, and Load Coil. It also compares results to user-defined threshold values and provides

a pass, marginal, or fail indication. For your convenience, this feature offers two test modes,

with and without UltraFed:

OneCheck Good Pair Test

and

OneCheck with UltraFED IIB

respectively.

1. Connect the tip (A), ring (B), and ground (earth) leads to the line under test. If the test

requires an UltraFED, connect the UltraFED as well.

2. From the

OneCheck Copper

menu, select

OneCheck Good Pair Test

OneCheck with

UltraFED IIB

, or any user created profile.

3. If you are adding a new profile or editing an existing profile, you will need to access the

OneCheck Copper Editor

application (See

OneCheck Copper Editor in the next section

Once you are done with editing or creating profiles, press the

Save and Launch

button

and run the test.

4. To save the report, press the

Save Report

button. It will open the screen where you can

specify the format of the saved file. Regardless of the format your chose, there will be

also a JSON file saved with the same name. It is accessible on the unit and on StrataSync

after syncing.

The OneCheck Copper test is complete.
