Smartphone with Data Tethering

You can remotely connect to a test instrument using a Smartphone capable of data teth

ering and a WiFi hotspot or USB cable. 

Figure 18

 illustrates a test instrument connected to a workstation using a WiFi hotspot 

provided by a Smartphone that supports data tethering.

Launching the utility

To use the Smart Access Anywhere utility, you must 1) establish a connect from your 

PC or mobile device to the test instrument, 2) launch the utility on the test instrument to 

obtain the required remote access code, and then 3) launch the utility on your PC or 

mobile device, and enter the remote access code that was obtained from the instru

-

ment.
