CAUTION! This device is designed to operate indoors.
The design is assumed to be safe, protection measures and
additional safety systems are used, nevertheless there is always
a small risk of operational injuries.
CONSTRUCTION AND USE
Bench grinder is designed for light-duty works in small workshops
and for individual, amateur activities (tinkering). It is not intended for
professional use. It is perfect for sharpening tools such as drills and
chisels. Grinder is not designed for continuous use and it must not be
used for more than 30 minutes at a time. After operation at full load
for this amount of time, switch off the grinder and wait until it cooles
down to the ambient temperature. You can install wire brushing
wheels provided that such brush can work at rotational speed equal
to 2950 rpm or higher.
Use the power tool according to the manufacturer’s instructions
only!

PREPARATION FOR OPERATION
GRINDER INSTALLATION ON A WORKSHOP BENCH
Four rubber cushions (
11
) help to limit vibrations and sound transfer.
It is recommended to firmly fix the grinder to a workbench or a stand
with the use of two fixing points designed for such purpose. They are
located on the bench grinder base (fixing bolts are not included) and
guarantee safe operation. Hole for bench fixing (
5
) is located at each
side of the grinder.
FIXING AND ADJUSTING EYE SHIELDS AND SPARK SHIELD
Prior to fixing of supports for eye shields ensure the grinder is
switched off and that its plug is removed from the mains socket.
Prior to every use of the grinder ensure the eye shields 1 and 2 are
properly installed. Eye shield must be installed on appropriate
support above each of the grinding wheels.
•
Use supplied screws, washers and arms to fix eye shields.
•
Adjust height and angle of eye shields so they match operator and
type of work performed.
•
Install spark shield (
10
) to each of the grinding wheel covers (
fig. C
).
•
Set the spark shield to desired position.
•
Turn the grinding wheel by hand to ensure it has no contact with
the spark shield.
•
Tighten the screw firmly.
•
Repeat the operation for the second spark shield.
Do not tighten screws for plastic plates too hard as it may cause
the plates to crack. Spark shield should be adjusted so its lower
edge is 2 mm from the grinding wheel surface. It is necessary
to correct position of the spark shields from time to time, to
compensate wear of the grinding wheels.
INSTALLATION OF THE WORKRESTS
Prior to fixing of workrests ensure the grinder is switched off and
that its plug is removed from the mains socket.
It is necessary to use workrests (
8
) with every high speed grinding
wheel to help in grinding tasks. Never use bench grinder without
workrests or with workrests improperly adjusted. There are left and
right workrests supplied. Ensure the correct workrest is installed at
each side.
•
Install workrests (
8
) to inner walls of grinding wheel covers with the
use of supplied bolts and washers (
fig. D
).
•
Move the workrests (
8
) from the wheels to a distance not greater
than 1.5 mm.
•
Turn the grinding wheel by hand to ensure it has no contact with
the workrest.
•
Repeat the described actions for the other side.
OPERATION / SETTINGS
CONNECTING TO POWER SUPPLY NETWORK
Prior to connecting ensure the network voltage matches the
voltage given on the rating plate of the bench grinder (located
on the back of the grinder). Grinder is a Class I device (grounded)
and thus it is equipped with three core power supply cable and a
plug with ground terminal.
SWITCHING ON / SWITCHING OFF
Switching on
– press the button
I
of the switch (
7
).
Switching off
– press the button
O
of the switch (
7
).
When grinding use only front surface of the grinding wheel, never
lateral. Remember that processed material may heat up very
much. It may be necessary to cool the material by immersing it in
coolant or water. Do not cool the grinding wheel with coolant or
water. As the grinding wheel wears out readjust the workrest so
the distance between its edge and the wheel is not greater than
1.5 mm. Ensure the object to be processed does not fall out of your
hands and does not jam between the workrest and the wheel. It
may cause the grinding wheel to crack or personal injuries.
