5 Product Handling and Installation
This chapter mainly introduces the air conditioning works required to be conducted or focused after the product is arrival.
The Vertiv standard AHU is delivered in two sections. The lower section should be positioned in the final operating location
first. The upper section should be carefully lifted and mounted on the top following the instructions provided. Always ensure
operator and equipment safety procedures are followed. Do not attempt to move, position, or install the sections using non-
approved methods.
5.1. Unit Unloading
After the unit is delivered, please unload the unit with packaging by forklift or crane with hoist cable and stand bar. In case
the forklift is used, please unload the unit based on the methods described below; if the crane is used, please refer to the
following sections for the unloading precautions.
1) The weight of a section (which is half unit) is about 2.5 tons, so the forklift with lifting capacity exceeding more than 3.5
tons shall be used, so as to ensure the unloading safety.
2) The forklift arm shall be open to the widest distance, to allow it under the mounting base and ensure that the forklift arm
matches with the unit in length.
3) When using the forklift to move the unit, move slowly to avoid damaging the unit or scratching the surface.
4) When the forklift is used, please lift the unit from both ends and ensure that the distance of the unit from the floor is no
more than 51 mm-102 mm. All personnel standing next to the unit must be 3.7 m away from the unit for safety reasons. If the
unit will be lifted more than 102 mm in height, the personnel standing next to the unit shall be more than 5 m away from the
unit for safety. When handling the unit, the tilt of the unit shall be within 75 degree -105 degree, excess tilt shall be avoided.
