To connect the nodes to the customer network
1
Choose which ports and method you want to use to connect to your network.
2
Plug an Ethernet cable into the IPMI port on each node.
3
Plug the other end of each Ethernet cable into a network switch.
Refer to the
Veritas Access Appliance Getting Started Guide
for details about the
initial configuration requirements and procedures.
Connecting the power cords to the hardware
Typically, the rear of a rack is configured with a Power Distribution Unit (PDU) on
each side. The PDU on each side is from a different source to provide power
redundancy.
Caution:
Do not turn on the power to any components while connecting the power
cords. The components must be turned on in a specific sequence to ensure correct
communication.
Refer to the following section for a description of the power cable connectors. If
you have more than one compute node the instructions apply in the same manner
as for one node.
To connect the power cables
1
For each component, obtain two power cords that are appropriate for your
region and equipment.
2
On the compute node, connect a power cord to each power supply socket.
Connect the other end of each cord to a different PDU.
