5.1.3. Warning signals and messages
Warning signals during the work-cycle
Insufficient cooling water
The unit is fitted with flow meter that measures the cooling water flow rate.
If the tap has not been turned on or the tap water flow rate is too low:
- when the instrument is turned on, the display shows
"AL10. Flow rate H2O
insufficient"
to remind the operator to restore a sufficient flow of water:
- in the case of insufficient water supply during the work-cycle, an acoustic signal
warns the operator of an error and the display shows the above message whilst
continuing the work-cycle. If the minimum flow-rate is not restored within 20 seconds
the cycle is automatically interrupted;
- in the case of insufficient water supply when Start is pressed in the "Automatic
Check-up" menu, the display shows the above message whilst continuing the work-
cycle;
- in the case of insufficient water supply when Start is pressed in the "Clean vessel"
menu, the display shows the above message and the cycle is automatically
interrupted.
Change test tube
The unit is fitted with a sensor that detects whether the test-tube has been changed
between analyses. If the test tube has not been changed, when START is pressed
an acoustic signal warns the operator of the error and the display shows the following
message:
”AL11. Change test tube”.
Press Start to start the cycle without changing the test tube.
Warning messages
Preheating
When the instrument is turned on a yellow stripe at the top of every page of the
software warns the operator that preheating of the steam generator is in progress. If
Start is pressed for a work-cycle that requires the production of steam, the display
shows:
"Preheating in progress"
.
The end of preheating is signaled by a beep and the yellow stripe at the top of the
display is replaced by a blue stripe. Press Start to start the work-cycle.
Check name and quantity of sample
If Save was not pressed after entering the analysis parameters for Single distillation
or Distillation in series, when Confirm is pressed the following prompt appears:
“Check Name/Q.ty of sample”
. Press Continue.
Press Confirm to confirm the sample name and quantity previously entered followed
by Start to proceed with the analysis.
Value out of range
When Save is pressed after entering the analysis parameters, the display will show
"Value out of range"
to indicate an unacceptable value. Press Continue, the
incorrect value will automatically be deleted and a new value can be entered.
