Notes:
• Detectors can be installed on the bottom of beams when the beams are less than 30 cm (12 in.)
deep and beam spacing is less than 2.4 m (8 ft.).
• Beams less than 20 cm (8 in.) deep are considered flat ceilings. Heat detectors must be installed on
the bottom of the beams.
• Spacing of beams deeper than 20 cm (8 in.) must be reduced by 1/3 of the listed spacing.
