6.
Hardware installation and operation
Refer to the illustrations on page 2 of this manual.
•
Choose the location for the camera, keeping following guidelines in mind:
o
do not install the camera in locations where extremely high or low temperatures or excessive
vibrations may occur.
o
avoid mounting the camera near high electro-magnetic fields.
o
do not aim the camera at the sun or other extremely bright objects or reflections (e.g. metal
doors).
•
Use the mounting bracket

to determine the location of the mounting holes. Drill the holes and
secure the bracket

using 3 screws.
•
Attach the camera to the mounting bracket

with the camera bolt
[5]
.
•
Slide the sunshield
[4]
in place.
•
Point the camera towards the zone of interest and tighten the position bolt

.
•
Connect the antenna
[8]
to the antenna connector and/or connect a network cable (included) to
the RJ45 jack

. If in doubt, contact your local network service provider.
Note:
it is possible to connect the camera straight to the RJ45 port of a computer. In this case a
crossed cable (not incl.) should be used and network settings must be configured manually.
•
Plug the DC connector of the power adaptor into the 5VDC input jack

. Only use the included
adaptor or one with the same specifications.
•
Plug the adaptor into a suitable mains outlet (100~240V AC/50~60Hz).
Note:
it takes about 30s for the camera to initialise.
7.
Software installation
•
Insert the included CD-ROM into a suitable computer system (not incl.).
System requirements: CPU

2.06 GHz / memory
≥
256MB / network
≥
10 MB / video card
≥
64MB memory / recommended OS: Windows 2000 or XP / Mac.
Windows
•
Locate the software installer
IPCamSetup.exe
and double click it.
•
Follow the instructions on the screen. Click
Next
to start the software installation.
