Assembly
Checking the function
• When the assembly is complete, check it has been done properly against the
installation record.
• Above all, check the function of the hand control:
- When stationary
- On a test run
• Make sure that the pedal connection, the hand control and other parts of the
device are able to move freely and do not knock against the steering column
or other parts of the vehicle.
• Make sure that parts of the control cannot jam one another.
• Free movement must also be ensured even if a brake circuit fails.
Securely fasten the VEA in the vehicle, then lay and fasten the cables,
preferably with cable ties.
Laying the cables
Before finally laying the cables, check that the interface for the hand control has
been assembled.
If it has not, replace the contact housing.
Button with integrated status LED
Drill a hole with a minimum
19.2 mm diameter in a suitable
place.
Note the length of the button
and plan for a minimum depth of
40 mm.
Insert and screw down the button,
then connect it to the wiring har-
ness supplied.
