Strong product movements

Heavy turbulences in the vessel, e.g. by
strong stirrers or strong chemical reactions
influence the measurement. A surge or bypass
pipe (figure) of sufficient size allows, provided
that the product causes no build-up in the
pipe, always a reliably measurement even with
strong turbulences in the vessel.

Products which can cause slight build-up can

be measured by using a measuring pipe with
100 mm nominal width and more. In a measur-
ing pipe of this size, slight build-up is not a
problem.

Build-up

If the radar sensor is mounted too close to the
vessel wall, build-up on the vessel walls
causes false echoes. Position the radar sensor
in a sufficient distance to the vessel wall. Also
note chapter "4.1 General installation
instructions“.

Inflowing material

Do not mount the instruments in or above the
filling stream. Ensure that you detect the
product surface and not the inflowing material.
