6. TLM Description
6.1 INTRODUCTION/DEFAULTS
The Tone Line Module (TLM) for the C-6124 system provides communication with any standard tone
remote system.
The TLM is shipped from the factory in the following state:
2 Wire mode
600 ohm output impedance
Squelch control enabled
Crossmute disabled
6.2 INPUT/OUTPUT
Two jacks are available for external access. The recorder jack is a 3.5mm female plug. The line jack is an RJ-
45 eight pin modular jack.
6.2.1 LINE JACK
The line interface of the TLM is an eight pin modular connector. A six-foot cable is included with each card
for use as is appropriate. The connector pins are assigned as follows:

Pin 8 is the pin closest to the bottom of the card when the card is installed in a console.
6.2.2 RECORDER OUTPUT
The recorder jack is a 3.5 mm female audio jack. This output provides both transmit and receive audio as
heard by the single TLM. The output is 600 ohm balanced. The receive path audio is always included in the
recorder output. Two jumper selections allow the user to select if the transmit side contains tones and if
crosspatch transmit audio is to be included. See section 6.3.5 for a complete description.
6.2.3 MULTIPLE CONSOLES / PARALLEL OPERATION
TLM’s are designed to operate in parallel with other consoles, refer to sections 6.3.3 and 6.3.4 for correct
jumper settings.
