Vega’s C-
6124
CROSSMUTE ENCODE/DECODE: The C-6124 has an audio Crossmute feature. This feature sends a DTMF digit
before and after each transmission. Parallel consoles decode this DTMF and remove that line’s audio from their
speaker outputs. This feature allows console operators in the same room to operate without a feedback loop
occurring. The programmer may independently enable or disable both the encoding of the DTMF signal and the
decoding o f the DTMF signal. For example, in a room with three consoles in parallel all three will have their
CROSSMUTE ENCODE and DECODE set to ON. The console in the next room, which is tied in parallel, is in no
danger of audio feedback; therefore, both of the CROSSMUTE attributes are set to OFF. Note that this feature uses
DTMF digits “C” and “D”. If it is possible for these digits to be used in the system, disable the tone Crossmute
feature or problems will occur. A hardwire Crossmute is offered through each TLM modular connector as an
alternative.
LAM FLASH: Each TLM has a programmable Line Activity Monitor (LAM) flash setting. This may be programmed
from 0 to 9 seconds. This is the length of time that the LAM light on the front panel will blink after the squelch gates
block the receive audio.
