CROSSMUTE Programming 

 

Crossmute is used when more than one console is in audio range of each other.  Transmitting on a 

line that a parallel console is monitoring will produce audio feedback.  The Crossmute feature prevents the line card 
of a parallel console from driving the Unselect audio bus.  This action takes that audio off the console speaker.  The 
C-6124 offers two methods of crossmuting lines.  The first is a hardwire option that is available from the modular 
connector at the back of each TLM. The second method is through use of the “C” and “D” DTMF characters.  This 
second method is enabled and disabled by following the screen progression shown above.  In the tone-based 
crossmute a DTMF “C” is transmitted before the burst tone and audio.  A DTMF “D” is transmitted when 
transmission has stopped.  This is a convenient method if the letter DTMF digits are not used anywhere in the 
system.   The encoding and decoding of this feature are independently enabled or disabled by pressing the button to 
the right of the text, which describes the parameter.  The ON and OFF text in the button give the present status.  
When the setting is as desired, press the
