12. With MS 3100/PC 4000 navigation system installed: Insert the C1 plug of the cable
for the navigation connection (MA 2000) into the socket C’ on the navigation compu-
ter, and insert the 6-pin plug of the cable into the corresponding socket of the con-
trol unit for the hands-free unit.
Initial operation
1. Reconnect the battery.
2. Restore perfect functioning of the electrical system (clock, on-board computer, alarm
system, airbag, immobiliser, radio coding etc.).
3. Insert the batteries (not included) into the battery compartment of the remote con-
trol, see Operating Instructions.

The remote control also functions in the holder without the batteries inserted.
Check the connections
1. Ensure that there is no phone in the holder.
2. Switch on the ignition (engine start not necessary).
With no navigation computer connected:
“Phone out” and a logo should then be displayed on the screen.
3. Insert a suitable mobile phone (see „Mobile phones” on Page 10) into the holder.

Before inserting a mobile phone, remove the protective cap for the antenna connection
on the telephone.
The start screen should appear on the display.
When connected to the MS 3100/PC 4000 navigation system:
The navigation system starts.
3. In the “Main menu” select the option “Phone” (see Operating Instructions for
MS 3100).
“Phone out” should then be displayed on the screen.
4. Insert a suitable mobile phone into the holder and switch on if necessary.
For a short time, the message “Phone not ready” will be displayed, then the start screen
should appear.

If the mobile phone is not switched on and with the message “Phone not ready” the
system will switch back automatically to navigation after a short time.
