10.2.1 Troubleshooting
WARNING
Risk of injuries due to moving parts, or risk of fatal electric shock!
Always switch off the machine before trouble-shooting. Before starting work, switch off the
main switch and put on a padlock to prevent the machine from being switched on inadvertently.
Keep the key out of the reach of other people!
All repairs must be carried out by the VC999 Customer Service Department!
Fault Possible cause Remedy
Machine is not connected to the
power supply Connect the machine to the power
supply
Circuit breaker (3F5.1) has tripped Reset the circuit breaker (3F5.1)
Fine-wire fuse (3F5.2) has blown Replace the fine-wire fuse (3F5.2).
Main switch not switched on Switch on the main switch.
Main switch defective Check the main switch and, if nec-
essary, replace it.
Mains fuse (provided on-site) has
blown Replace the mains fuse (provided
on-site)
EMERGENCY STOP button has
been pressed Reset the EMERGENCY STOP but-
ton.
Display is defective Replace the display
Contact the VC999 Customer Ser-
vice Department
Machine does not regis-
ter on the display
Service door is unlocked Use both star knobs to lock the ser-
vice door.
Service door cannot be
unlocked The upper sieve has not been or is
incorrectly inserted in the belt car-
tridge Check and insert the sieve correctly
Heating element defective Replace the heating element
Contact the VC999 Customer Ser-
vice Department
Heating contactor defective Check and, if necessary, replace the
contactor
Heating element furred up Decalcify the system (see section
"Decalcification mode")
Water is not warmed up
correctly
Only for VC999 ST2 D:
Steam supply interrupted Check steam supply lines and en-
sure there is a correct supply of
steam
Clean the filter sieve (see section
"Cleaning the steam supply line filter
sieve")
