6. Maintenance
Changing or Cleaning the Pre-Motor Filter
1. Switch the vacuum cleaner off and disconnect
the power plug from the wall outlet.
2. Remove dirt container.
3. Remove the pre-motor filter from its position as
shown (Fig.6/1).
4. Lift the cover off the cassette by turning anti-
clockwise (Fig.6/2).
5. Lift filter out (Fig.6/3).
6. Firmly tap clean the filter until no more dirt is
observed falling out (Fig.6/4).
The filter may also be washed by running it under the
tap in lukewarm (max 40
o
C) water. Vax recommend
washing the filter once a month or when suction
appears reduced. Always allow the filter to air dry for
24 hours before replacing into the cleaner.
NOTE:
The exhaust filter is located inside a wheel. This
is a lifetime filter and should not need replacing. In the
event of malfunction, contact your local service agent.
WARNING:
Always empty the dirt container and
clean the filter before each use and after prolonged
use. Never overfill the dirt container. Remove dirt
and clean the filter each time the dirt container is
emptied, or after prolonged use. Failure to do so
may cause motor damage.
Clearing Blockages from the TurboTool
Switch the vacuum cleaner off and disconnect the
power plug from the wall outlet.
1. Rotate the locking ring 180
o
(Fig.7/1).
2. Lift the top cover off and remove any blockage (Fig.7/2).
3. To re-assemble, ensure that the tabs are
engaged. Pivot the lower housing closed and
rotate the locking ring 180
o
(Fig.7/3).
