4. Safety and Warranty Information
Handle the detector with care. Dropping the detector or the batteries, if present, may cause
damage. Insert the batteries according to the instructions provided.
DO NOT attempt to perform service or troubleshooting on the system in the presence of
patients or unauthorized personnel. Do not remove protective covers or otherwise disable
safety devices while in the presence of patients.
Warning:
Nexus DR is designed for use in conjunction with
equipment that generates ionizing X-ray radiation. Observe
appropriate precautions and wear protective equipment when the X-
ray equipment is in use.
Some components of the system are of significant size and weight. Observe appropriate lifting
and handling techniques when moving heavy equipment or components. Obtain assistance
when necessary to avoid injury to persons or damage to equipment.
Some components of the Varex system may have sharp edges by design, or may develop
sharp edges due to impact or other improper handling. Use caution and wear appropriate
protective equipment when handling any component of the system.
DO NOT bypass or otherwise disable safety mechanisms provided by the X-ray generator.
Take all available and appropriate measures to prevent unnecessary or unintentional radiation
exposure.

components of the Varex system.
Observe all cautions and warnings in the product manuals. Failure to abide by the instructions
and precautions provided may result in unnecessary risk to patients, users, or equipment.
The user (X-ray system manufacturers) shall verify that the Nexus device is properly installed
according to relevant medical standard (IEC 60601-1 series) requirements by re-evaluating
applicable tests especially for ground bond (8.6.4), leakage (8.7) and mechanical stability (9.4,
9.8, etc.).
Environmental precautions
All components of the system must be stored, transported, installed, and operated in
accordance with the environmental conditions provided in
page 24.
