6.6.1 COMPRESSOR AIR FILTER
The compressor oil is the key to a long useful life of the
air compressor system. Dirt and other foreign matter can
be introduced into the compressor system through the air
intake. A clean air filter will ensure that the compressor is
protected. Consult
Section 6.3, Maintenance Schedule
Table
for routine compressor air filter inspection
intervals.
6.6.1.1 COMPRESSOR AIR FILTER CHECK
Consult
Figure 6-2
and the following procedure to check
the compressor air filter.
1. With the machine off and the ignition key
removed, open the hood panel.
2. Remove the two (2) wing nuts [

] from the air
filter cover [

] at the top of the compressor
unit.
3. Remove air filter element [
C
] from the air filter
mounting posts [
D
].
4. Inspect the air filter element for visible dirt,
debris, or damage.
NOTE:
To perform a
more thorough inspection of the compressor
air filter element, refer to
Section 6.6.1.2
.
If element is in adequate shape to continue
using:
