Preparation
Sorting the laundry
• Sort the laundry by type, colour, degree of soiling and permitted water temperature.
• Always follow the instructions on the labels of your clothes.
Preparing the laundry for washing
• Items comprising fittings such as underwired bras, belt buckles or metal buttons will
damage the machine. You can remove metallic parts or wash these items inside a laundry
bag or pillow case.
• Empty any objects such as coins, ballpoint pens and paper clips from the pockets. Turn
inside out and brush. These items can damage your machine or create noise.
• Place small items such as children's socks or nylon stockings inside a laundry bag or
pillow case.
• Place curtains in the appliance without compressing. Remove any fastening elements from
the curtains.
• Fasten zips, sew on loose buttons and mend vanes and tears.
• Products labelled "machine washable" or "hand washable" must only be washed with a
suitable programme.
• Do not wash colours and whites together. The colour can bleed from new, dark-coloured
cotton items. These items should be washed separately.
• Stubborn stains must be properly treated before washing. Contact a dry cleaning company
in case of doubt.
• Only use dyes/colour enhancers and descalers that are suitable for use in a washing
machine. Always follow the advice on the packaging.
• Wash trousers and delicates inside out.
• Put angora wool items in the freezer for a few hours before washing. This will reduce the
risk of piling.
• Clothes which are heavily stained with flour, chalk dust, milk powder, etc. must be shaken
out before being put in the machine. Dust and powders can build up on the internal surfaces
of the machine over time and cause damage.
