Product description
The product consists of a screw-in heating element (elec-
trical immersion heater) and an Energy Manager (installed
in the control cabinet/fuse box), which regulates the heating
output depending on the electrical energy that is available
(e.g. from a photovoltaic installation).

Operating status of
the signal LED for the
Energy Manager
The software that is installed on the Energy Manager can
measure and visualise the use of electricity from the network
(energy supply company) and the feed-in into the network
(e.g. via the photovoltaic installation). The visualisation is
available in a web interface and in apps for iOS and Android
(see the separate user manual for the Energy Manager's
user interface).
3.3
Function
The Energy Manager monitors the excess electricity from re-
newable power generation (e.g. the photovoltaic installation),
visualises and saves the energy balance, and sends the data
to the PV electrical immersion heater, which converts the
energy that is available in 500 W increments (up to 3500 W)
into thermal energy in a controlled fashion.
The data that the Energy Manager collects regarding the
installation's energy production may differ from the data from
the main energy counter.
The PV electrical immersion heater only heats with excess
electricity that it has generated itself and that would be fed
back into the energy supply company's network if there was
no PV electrical immersion heater. The PV electrical immer-
sion heater continuously receives the information that suffi-
cient current is available for activating one, two or three heat-
ing circuits (3500 W in total) from the Energy Manager. As
soon as another consumer is switched on and electricity that
was not generated by the PV electrical immersion heater
is available, the PV electrical immersion heater regulates
its power downwards in stages and switches its immersion
heater circuits off entirely.
The PV electrical immersion heater is switched off when
there is no longer any excess electricity available or when
the maximum water temperature in the cylinder, which is set
via the setting control on the PV electrical immersion heater,
is reached.
Switch-on and switch-off times that are adjusted to the
power of the three immersion heater circuits apply here. One
immersion heater circuit remains switched on for at least
10 seconds before it can be switched off. If the photovoltaic
