A temperature sensor in the winding protects 

the pump motor. In case of excess tempera-

ture or if the motor is blocked, the motor is shut 

down.

If the vacuum pump is switched off due to this 

safety precaution, the error must be cleared 

manually:

Unplug pump from the power supply 

 Elimi-

nate cause of error 

 Allow pump to cool down 

 Switch vacuum pump back on.

Avoid overheating (e.g., due to hot process 

gases). Maximum permissible temperature 

range: see ”Gas inlet temperatures”, pg. 27.

Make sure the fan’s air supply is adequate. Do 

not place the pump on soft surfaces (e.g., rub-

ber foam) during operation. This may reduce 

the air circulation in the pump housing and af-

fect the fan’s cooling effect. Check fan regu

-

larly for dust/dirt. Clean fan guard grill if neces-

sary to avoid a reduction of ventilation.
