6 Care and maintenance
Preventing crusty deposits
Crusty deposits, e.g. burned-on sauces or sugar, impair the cleaning effect.
▸ When grilling: line the original baking tray with aluminium foil and then place it under-
neath the wire shelf.
▸ Use porcelain or glassware for grilling large, bulky food.
▸ Wipe away food spills as soon as possible when still in a liquid form.
▸ Place protective foil between the cooking space floor and the bottom heating element.
Removing crusty deposits
If a crusty deposit forms:
▸ soften crusty deposit with a damp cloth and then dab away.
▸ Use a plastic or wooden spatula to carefully remove any thick, crusty deposits. Soften
any stubborn residue with a damp cloth and then dab away.
Only remove crusty deposits. Any remaining soiling will eventually disappear after
going through the baking and cleaning process a number of times. In the case of
a heavily soiled appliance or after being in use for several years, some stains may
remain.
Heavily soiled cooking space
▸ Heat the empty cooking space using the
operating mode at the maximum cooking
space temperature for several hours.
