The metal used in construction of the
furnace and duct work has a light
coating of oil. This should disappear
after a short period of time. Once this
burn-off has occurred, it should not
reoccur.
a) Burn only seasoned wood.
b) Set thermostat higher to attain
higher flue temperatures. This will aid
in preventing build-up of creosote.
