Trip Unit Settings
3.1.3.1 AC-PRO-II Device Settings
The AC-PRO-II device settings must be configured correctly for successful communications with the
Smart 1-Line to be established.
The AC-PRO-II RS485 communications settings can easily be changed as these settings are part of
the standard “Change Settings” sequence that can be performed using the AC-PRO-II screen and
buttons. Refer to the AC-PRO-II Instruction Manual
The following AC-PRO-II settings must be correctly configured:
•
RS-485 Communications
Enabled
setting must be set to
ON
.
•
Address
must be set to match the address of the corresponding items on the 1-Line
diagram. The address must be unique (a single address cannot be used for
multiple trip units).
•
Baud Rate
must be set to match the Smart 1-Line or external gateway baud rate setting.
•
Parity
must be set to match all other trip units & Smart 1-Line. If there are any AC-PRO trip
units on the RS-485 network, set the AC-PRO-II parity to None. Otherwise, set AC-PRO-II
trip units to Odd or Even.
•
Reply Delay
(if present) is recommended to be set to the minimum setting when used with
the Smart 1-Line.
•
Forced Trip
can either be set to ENABLE or DISABLE. Set to ENABLE if you want to be
able to trip the breaker using the Smart 1-Line.
•
Settings Change Over Comm

presently, regardless of this setting, the Smart 1-Line is not capable of changing
trip unit settings.
•
Alarm (Relay) settings
are user programmable. If you want the Smart 1-Line to indicate an
alarm has occurred, this alarm must be set/enabled at the trip unit. See the AC-PRO-II

Smart 1-Line regardless of trip unit alarm settings).
