PROCESS DESCRIPTION
III.A.
DISCUSSION
RUN #1 October 6th, 2014 : The hand fire wood furnace was set to a category
1 burn rate. The air inlet is maintain fully open at the insertion of the load and
then manually close when the output reach the targeted output of category 1.
The test load weight is 42.65 Lbs and utilized a 9.98 lb coal bed. The average
Btu/hr output was 20 330. Burn time was 10.6 hours. The kg/hr burn rate was
1.52.
RUN #2 October 7th, 2014 : The hand fire wood furnace was set to a category
4 burn rate. The air inlet is maintain fully open to get the maximum heat output.
The test load weight is 45.4 Lbs and utilized a 8.7 lb coal bed. The average
Btu/hr output was 61 869. Burn time was 3.06 hours. The kg/hr burn rate was
5.51.
